Gary Sherrill has been a minister of music since 1976, a performer, a teacher and is currently the civilian music minister/director for the Robert P. Taylor Memorial Chapel located at the Naval Air Station and Joint Reserve Base, Fort Worth, Texas.
The Van Ness Press has published one of Gary's original songs "Our Cornerstone". Also published, is a Christmas drama called "Love Came Down" by the Southern Baptist Convention drama division.
He is an ambassador for "The Artist Outreach" (a non-profit) helping students in public, private schools and community centers, to develop their creativity, through the arts, as part of their academic learning processes. Additionally, he is a certified Yamaha Music Education Instructor specializing in Children’s Music Education.
He is a past member of the "Singing Men of Texas" and has performed with the "Arlington Master Chorale" under Randy Jordan.
Gary has done volunteer work in schools, churches, community events, senior living and nursing home facilities, jails and prisons, and has helped with the annual fund raisers at the Oakwood Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.
Gary has been a member of other performing groups and bands like "The Hog Wallow Boys" and has performed for events like, the Lions Club International of Paris, Texas and in Fort Worth, Texas.
David Cooper was the 1994 Fiddle Player of the Year - The Homer Logan Award recipient from the Metroplex Country Music Association and a former member of the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra.
His cowboy hat is hanging on the wall at the Historic Fort Worth Stock Yards “White Elephant Saloon".
He has played in numerous local country music acts/bands in the DFW area since 1982 including: Kim O'Connor and the Lucky Rangers (1982 - 2011), Moonlite Express 1984-1986 (Eaves family group) renamed "Jed" (after Billy Eaves left for Bransom MO), The Walnut Springs Band 1986-1988 (Johnny and Alice Nash), Midnight Rider 1989 (with Larry Greene), Jimmy Eaves and Pure Country 1990 - 1992 (Fri. Sat. matinee at the Longhorn Saloon), Southbound 1993 - 1994 (out of Grand Praire, TX), The Fort Worth Civic Orchestra 1994 - 1995 under Marion Nesvadba including a performance at the "Bass Performance Hall" Fort Worth, Texas 1995, The production of the music video for the "Outdoors Trails" TV show. The theme song "Headin For Those Outdoor Trails" was written by Kim O'Connor - David played the fiddle on the tune. The composition and production of "Just Something I Do" by David Cooper 2001, The Cooper Hall Project 2004, "Cooper, Dyer & Vinson" 2005, Kim O'Connor and the Lucky Rangers, David Cooper and the Icicle Ensemble featuring Pappy's Christmas - "Fishing on Christmas Day" 2011 (family Christmas group), I had the pleasure of performing with "Miss Devon" at a performance in Mineral Wells Tx. The Michael Cote' Band 2013 - 2020. When David's wife Nancy passed in Dec 2020 - his world changed. In recovery, he was fortunate to be able to play music again with the band named "Texas Brew". He's now with the performing duo, "Dave and Gary" 2022.
He has performed with these local groups around North East Texas and from Oklahoma to Galveston Bay and over to San Angelo then Abilene and up to Colorado and overseas in 1991 Soho, London England UK with Kim O'Connor and the Lucky Rangers at the only Mexican Food restaurant in the country at the time and in 1999 Barcelona Spain with Kim O'Connor at the "American Airlines, American Night" event at a club on the beachfront.
He is the executive producer, composer and musician on two albums and several singles of original music.
